Red Horse Racing crew chief suspended

The No. 11 Red Horse Racing team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was penalized as a result of a lug nut issue June 10 after the Rattlesnake 400 at Texas Motor Speedway near Ft. Worth. Because of at least one lug nut not properly installed at the end of the race, crew chief Scott Zipadelli was suspended until June 22, fined $5,000 and placed on probation through Dec. 31. The suspension sidelined Zipadelli for Saturday night’s race at Iowa Speedway in Newton.

The team is already without its scheduled driver for the race. Matt Tifft was scheduled to drive the truck at Iowa, but because of a back issue, German Quiroga will drive the truck. Quiroga drove the No. 11 at Texas, as scheduled. It was Quiroga’s first Truck Series race since 2014.
