Richard Petty Motorsports transporter involved in wreck

The Richard Petty Motorsports transporter that hauls the cars and equipment for the organization’s No. 43 Ford entry driven by Dakoda Armstrong in the NASCAR Xfinity Series was involved in an accident in Louisiana on Wednesday on its way to Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth. The Xfinity Series races at TMS on Saturday. The transporter was being driven by Will Mallard.

According to a release from RPM, Mallard was not injured nor was he issued any kind of citation. The transporter did sustain enough damage, though, that the race team had to dispatch a replacement tractor. Still, the team expects to get its primary car, backup car and other necessary equipment to the Texas track in time for on-track activities on Friday in preparation for Saturday’s race.
