Rick Gdovic, father of part-time NASCAR driver Brandon Gdovic, has purchased the now-defunct No. 55 Viva Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series team, according to a report by Virginia newspaper The Daily Press. He has renamed the team Precision Performance Motorsports and plans to get the team back to Xfinity Series competition this season. Viva Motorsports ceased operations in June after the first 13 races of the 2015 Xfinity Series season.
“We are excited about the purchase of Viva’s operation,” Gdovic said, as quoted by The Daily Press. “They have continued to build race assets and a reputation over the past few years.”
The assets purchased include 12 race cars, race engines, a car transporter, and a race shop in China Grove, N.C.
