Rico Abreu goes NASCAR truck racing in 2016

Rico Abreu will go full-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series racing in 2016. He’ll be behind the wheel of the No. 98 ThorSport Racing Toyota. Abreu announced his 2016 plans Friday while in Tulsa, Okla., to compete in the Chili Bowl Nationals at Tulsa Expo Raceway in the River Spirit Expo Center. He replaces Johnny Sauter in ThorSport’s No. 98 truck. Sauter left the team after the 2015 season to drive a truck for GMS Racing.

“For that team — to be a part of it is just unbelievable, just the success they’ve had,” Abreu said. “It’s definitely, I feel, the right option for me to go, and it’s the right step.”
