Ryan Ellis will compete in multiple NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races from behind the wheel of the No. 93 BK Racing Toyota, according to an announcement Tuesday from BK Racing. His first race with the team will be the April 24 event at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway.
“Four or five years ago, I met (BK Racing owner) Ron Devine, and I told him, one day, I would drive for him. It seemed very far-fetched at the time, but this year, it finally came to fruition,” Ellis said. “It’s an amazing opportunity for me, and I’m so happy to bring (sponsor) ScienceLogic with me to the BK Racing program. I’ve gotten to know the ScienceLogic employees and brand a lot in the last year and really feel like part of their family.”
Ellis has one race of Sprint Cup Series experience, driving the No. 33 Chevrolet of Circle Sport Racing last year at Phoenix International Raceway. He also previously raced in the NASCAR Xfinity and Camping World Truck series. He has yet to compete in a NASCAR national-level race in 2016.
“Ryan is a driver that we’ve been watching for quite some time, as he raced in the Truck and Xfinity,” Devine said. “We’re proud to bring him to BK Racing this season and welcome ScienceLogic to our family.”
