Scott Zipadelli’s step-daughter passes away

Torie Costa, 20, the step-daughter of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series crew chief Scott Zipadelli, passed away at 9:37 p.m. ET Dec. 25, 2015, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Zipadelli was the crew chief on the No. 11 Toyota team of Red Horse Racing for driver Ben Kennedy during the 2015 Truck Series season.

The following day, Red Horse Racing (@RedHorseRacing) sent out a tweet of condolence to Zipadelli and the rest of Costa’s family that read, “Sending our deepest sympathy and prayers to @SZipadelli13 and his family at the loss of his daughter, Torie.” Soon after the news of Costa’s death spread throughout the NASCAR community, several figures within the sport also sent out tweets of condolences.
