Stewart-Haas team member injured in snow mobiling accident

By AMANDA VINCENT

Michael McCarville, the shock specialist on the No. 4 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team of driver Kevin Harvick has been sidelined as a result of injuries, including seven broken ribs and a collapsed lung, sustained in an accident during a snowmobiling outing in Utah with fellow-Stewart-Haas Racing team members.

“Went from this wonderful day with the team to hospital with a collapsed lung and 7 broken ribs. #Shithappensquick,” McCarville (@Nook4SHR) tweeted Wednesday, along with a photo collage representing the trip and his injuries.

The No. 4 team, along with most other Sprint Cup Series teams, are remaining on or near the West Coast, as NASCAR is in the middle of its West Coast Swing that began with the March 6 running of the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, continues Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway and concludes the following weekend at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.

According to a report from NBC Sports, Adam Gravitt will fill-in for McCarville.
