After a green-white-checker and then another caution flag that ended the Fred’s 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway on Saturday, Timothy Peters claimed his first win of the 2015 season but his second-straight victory at Talladega. Brandon Jones matched his career-best finish of second, while Mason Mingus achieved a new career-best finish of third.
“This is just an awesome feeling,” Peters said. “The Toyota Tundra was just awesome today.”
Brian Keselowski, in his first-career Truck Series start as a substitute for the injured Austin Theriault behind the wheel of brother Brad Keselowski’s No. 29 Ford, cycled to the lead after green-flag pit stops with just under 20 laps to go. But on a restart with four laps remaining in the race’s scheduled distance, Christopher Bell pushed Jones out to the lead. Bell eventually was penalized for pushing Jones too aggressively.
