Kurt Busch and the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet team is without crew chief Tony Gibson as they prepare for Saturday night’s Duck Commander 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth. Gibson is expected to be at the track in time for the race, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday.

Gibson remained home in North Carolina on Thursday and Friday with his ill wife, Beth Gibson.

Stewart-Haas Racing announced Gibson’s absence via Twitter (@StewartHaasRcng) on Thursday with the following tweet:

@TonyOldman41 is back home in NC with his wife as she is under the weather. He plans to be @TXMotorSpeedway Saturday for the race.”

No. 41 team engineer Johnny Klausmeier has been acting as crew chief for the team through Thursday and Friday practice sessions and will continue to do so for Sprint Cup pole qualifying Friday evening.
