TriStar Motorsports restructures for 2016

TriStar Motorsports has restructured its organization in preparation for 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series competition. Part of the restructuring process included scaling back from four full-time entries in the series to two. The race team will field Toyotas carrying the No. 14 and the No. 44, according to an press release from TriStar.

David Starr remains with the team and will drive the No. 44. While Starr continues with the team, he’ll have a new crew chief in Frank Kerr. Kerr is a recent hire for TriStar Motorsports, arriving at the organization from Richard Petty Motorsports. He has 13 years of experience as a NASCAR crew chief, four of those seasons in the Xfinity Series. The other nine years of experience came at the Sprint Cup level.
