When the NASCAR Xfinity Series hits the track at Dover (Del.) International Speedway in preparation for the May 14 race at the track, Ty Dillon will be docked 15 minutes of practice time as a result of his No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet failing laser inspection three times at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway prior to the April 30 running of the Sparks Energy 300 there.
Several other teams also had issues getting through the laser inspection station at Talladega. Failing laser inspection twice and receiving written warnings as a result were the No. 0 team of Garrett Smithley, the No. 4 team of Ross Chastain, the No. 28 team of Dakoda Armstrong, the No. 43 team of Jeb Burton, the No. 70 team of Derrike Cope, and the No. 85 team of Bobby Gerhart.
