Weather puts Chasers up front at Dover

With inclement weather and reports of the arrival of Hurricane Joaquin, NASCAR cancelled all track activity at Dover (Del.) International Speedway on Friday, resulting in the cancellation of Sprint Cup Series qualifying for Sunday’s AAA 400. With practice sessions scheduled for Friday also cancelled, the starting grid for Sunday’s race was set based on car owner points, putting the 16 Chase for the Sprint Cup competitors in the top 16 spots, led by points leader Matt Kenseth and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate and second driver in the points standings, Denny Hamlin, next to him on the front row.

Here’s the full-rundown of the starting grid for the AAA 400 scheduled for an approximate 2:30 p.m. ET start on Sunday:
