Where they stand: Sprint Cup points after Texas

By AMANDA VINCENT

Kyle Busch’s second-consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win — his victory in Saturday night’s Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway — was his second win of the season. With that second win, Busch joined Jimmie Johnson as a multi-race winner. Johnson also has made two trips to victory lane, so far, in 2016. As a result, the reigning champion and six-time champ are the frontrunners in terms of Chase for the Sprint Cup consideration.

Seven races into the season, three other drivers also have made their ways to victory lane. Other winners, so farm, this season include Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Brad Keselowski.

That leaves 11 provisional Chase positions to drivers based on their positions in the points standings. Below, are the top-11 winless drivers in the standings:

Carl Edwards (241 points)
Joey Logano (234)
Dale Earnhardt Jr. (211)
Kurt Busch (208)
Austin Dillon (198)
Martin Truex Jr. (187)
Matt Kenseth (171)
Jamie McMurray (171)
Chase Elliott (168)
A.J. Allmendinger (166)
Kasey Kahne (161)
