William Byron gets first Truck Series win

The Toyota Tundra 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., was only the fifth-career series start for Kyle Busch Motorsports driver William Byron, but Byron survived the physical race and was in position to take advantage of a race-ending incident between Johnny Sauter and Ben Rhodes to claim his first-career win.
“This is like a dream come true,” Byron said. “I was six-years-old watching truck races. Didn’t start racing until I was 14 and just to be in a Toyota Tundra like this is amazing.”
The race was scheduled for 167 laps but was extended to 170 because of a late race caution for Tyler Reddick, who led early and was up front for a total of 56 laps.
