Shane van Gisbergen won the Go Bowling at The Glen on Sunday at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International. It was van Gisbergen’s fourth win of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, the fifth of his Cup career, all on road courses. He’s the first driver to win four races in his first full season in the Cup Series.
Christopher Bell finished second, over 11 seconds behind the winner, after passing Chris Buescher on the final lap. Buescher was third. William Byron and Chase Briscoe rounded out the top-five.
Van Gisbergen led a race-high 38 laps of the 90-lap race. Ryan Blaney led 35 laps. Van Gisbergen took the lead from Blaney on lap 54.
Blaney finished the race in the sixth position.
On lap 63, van Gisbergen gave up the lead during a final cycle of green-flag pit stops. He retook the lead when Brad Keselowski was the last driver to pit on lap 73.
Buescher won stage one at lap 20. Alex Bowman was second at stage-end
Blaney led most of the stage after starting on the pole, and van Gisbergen ran second after also starting on the front row. But Blaney and van Gisbergen gave up their top-two positions to pit under green on lap 18.
Blaney and van Gisbergen cycled back up to seventh and eighth by the end of the stage.
Blaney won the 20-lap second stage at lap 40 with Byron a distant second.
After not pitting late in stage one, Buescher, Ryan Preece and Chase Elliott continued to stay out after the opening stage with ideas of a two-stop strategy. Van Gisbergen got by the three of them to take the lead on lap 25, the first lap after the restart.
Van Gisbergen, then, gave up his lead to pit on lap 37, turning over the position to Blaney.
“The battle coming back through, I had a lot of fun,” van Gisbergen said.
The only unscheduled caution of the race came on lap 28 for a Josh Berry spin and debris.
Daniel Suarez was seventh at the checkered flag. Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. finished eighth, Tyler Reddick ninth and Ross Chastain 10th.
