During the recent Olympic break for NASCAR, a three-weekend break for the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Bruce Schlicker left Kaulig Racing, where he was crew chief for the No. 97 Chevrolet team for Shane van Gisbergen.

Kevin Walter has been van Gisbergen’s crew chief since racing resumed. Kaulig racing moved Walter to the No. 97 team from Josh William’s No. 11 team.

Eddie Pardue will be Williams’s crew chief for the remainder of the season. Pardue is a three-time winner in the Xfinity Series — all in 2009 with drivers Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth.

Schlicker won three road-course races together this season at Portland (Ore.) International Raceway, Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway and the Chicago street course. In all, Schlicker has 10-career wins as an Xfinity Series crew chief with four drivers but all with Kaulig Racing.

Walter has been atop van Gisbergen’s pit box for two races. They finished 17th together at Michigan International Speedway and 25th at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Friday night.

With his three race wins, van Gisbergen is locked into the Xfinity Series playoffs that begin Sept. 28 at Kansas Speedway.
